Come on, let's talk about money!

The Problem

Math Literacy. Reading Literacy. Writing Literacy. What about Financial Literacy?

It belongs in the classroom as early as the others do - not squeezed into a single semester right before graduation.

Only 37%

of K-12 teachers have ever taken a college course in personal finance - fewer than 20% feel highly competent teaching it.

Cash For Cubs: Cash For Cubs hands teachers the lesson plan. Every topic is walked through on video by Mr. Brian, backed by matching worksheets and quizzes - no personal finance background required to lead the class.

39 states

now require personal finance education to graduate high school, and 30 of those require a standalone course.

Source: SoFi, State of Financial Literacy for High School Students

Cash For Cubs: Most of those mandates start in high school. Cash For Cubs covers the full K-12 journey - 15 levels across 5 grade-banded courses - so financial literacy builds year over year instead of arriving all at once, during one semester of high school.

63%

of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. And 37% don't have $400 liquid to cover an emergency expense.

Cash For Cubs: That statistic doesn't start in adulthood. Cash For Cubs is built to introduce lifelong financial topics EARLY - teaching budgeting, saving, credit, and investing habits before students ever get their first paycheck.

Mr. Brian, founder and on-camera host of Cash For Cubs
The Solution

Real-world lessons from a real-world educator.

Every one of the 45 Cash For Cubs video lessons is hosted on-camera by Mr. Brian - a real high school business teacher, not an AI-generated avatar or a synthetic voice reading a script. Students see a real person's face, hear a real person's tone, and react to a real person's energy, the same way they would with a teacher in front of the room.

That matters for engagement. Paired with the Band of Bears characters, animated worlds, and Bear Claw Challenges built into every lesson, Cash For Cubs creates a fun, story-driven environment kids actually want to sit through - not a lecture, but a show they ask to watch again and again. Mr. Brian's own classroom experience shapes how each topic is paced and explained, so it plays like a teacher who knows the room, because he is one.

The Curriculum

One sequential journey, Cubs to Polar Bears.

15 levels across 5 age-banded courses - each building on the last, from what money is to how to actually achieve financial freedom.

Standards Alignment

Built to fit inside what you're already teaching.

Cash For Cubs aligns with the frameworks schools already teach toward.

💰

National Standards for Personal Financial Education

Jump$tart Coalition & Council for Economic Education

The core K-12 personal finance framework, built around six pillars: Earning Income, Spending, Saving, Investing, Managing Credit, and Managing Risk. Cash For Cubs maps directly onto all six - earning and spending with Teddy the Cub and Goldie the Honey Bear, investing with Franklin the Grizzly Bear, credit with Chase the Panda Bear, and risk management and retirement planning with Penny the Polar Bear.

🧮

Math

Common Core - Ratios & Proportional Relationships

Every course threads real arithmetic through its episodes, not just its worksheets. This includes elementary math like adding coins and bills, intermediate math like calculating percentages, ratios, and proportional reasoning as it relates to ROI and compound growth, and advanced math like amortization tables and determining one's FIRE Number.

Aligns with Common Core Math 2.MD.C.8 (counting coins and bills), 6.RP/7.RP.A.3 (percentages, ratios, and proportional reasoning), and HSF-LE.A.1/B.5 (exponential growth models - compound interest and amortization). Also reinforces the Investing and Managing Risk pillars of the National Standards for Personal Financial Education, above.

🤝

Social-Emotional Learning

CASEL's 5 Core Competencies

Money is emotional, and the Cash For Cubs curriculum treats it that way. Self-Awareness and Self-Management show up directly within Honey Bears (Level II), entitled “Money & Emotions,” built around impulse buying and spending triggers. Responsible Decision-Making is a common theme throughout every episode via the “PAWS and THINK” Bear Claw Challenges. And, Cubs (Level III), entitled “Protecting Your Money,” covers choice, opportunity cost, and delayed gratification head-on.

Exact standards vary by state and district. Mr. Brian himself is happy to walk through how the curriculum maps to your specific standards on a demo call.
